DUKE OF YORK / LENANA)

The Duke of York School was founded in 1949. It is situated on the outskirts of Nairobi, near the village of Karen. The school bell was a gift from the British Royal Navy and came from the Battleship HMS Duke of York. Former students referred to each other as Old Yorkists.

At the end of 1966, the name was officially changed to Lenana School, although it was often referred to as the Duke of York for several more years.
