
Rippon Falls (Uganda)

SPEKE'S TABLET

"Speke discovered this source of the Nile on the 28th of July 1862"
Speke's tablet, originally located near Rippon Falls, was photographed
by Gordon Mumford in 1951. The tablet was moved when the Owen Falls Dam
(completed in 1954) was being constructed and this area was flooded.
