 Climbing Mount Kilimanjaro - October 1952

While working on the VHF survey, Gordon decided to climb to the top of Kilimanjaro during his local leave. When he was on the summit (October 22), the State of Emergency was declared in Kenya by the Governor (Sir Evelyn Baring).
