Did
your family have a farm in Kenya? Many of us did. Our families trekked
across vast space -- m.m.b.a. they called it -- in carts drawn
by oxen. Some families came to Kenya to farm after the railway opened
up the way to the interior. Others came after World War II, when the
airflight from England took up to three days.
Many of us dreamed of Africa as children, when we lived in cold,
wet climates. We came to Kenya, and we made it our home. Even though
we have now left, the land and memories still hold us. To us, Kenya
will always mean home.
