birth father (name unknown) who died in a car or motorbike
crash, probably between February and November 1970. David was
born in the Aga Khan Hospital in Nairobi in 1970, and was adopted
in 1972. His birth mother was Veronica Charissis of Eldoret.
From his research and through a younger half-sister, David has
learned that his birth father was from England, had a PhD, and was

ROBSON family, who owned and resided in Karen House in 1958-59. Bob Copeland, a national serviceman stationed at Gilgil, was a guest of George Robson at Christmas 1958 (see photo below), and Easter 1959. The youngest of their three daughters was called Sue. | SMYTHE, Major Joseph E. of the KAR, and later in Kenya Police. (Maltese name XUEREB). He attended Sandhurst and was awarded the Military Cross in WW II. | VON STULPNAGEL, Baron A. D. Benno, former District Commissioner of German East Africa. During First World War, he was the Aide de Camp to Field Marshall von Hindenburg. In 1925, he was Second Mate on the German schooner Anne Marie, and rescued (along with the schooner's crew) by the collier Carlbeath . For details of rescue, see Merchant Navy Queries - Carlbeath. | Hamp Court Flats, Upper Hill Road: - Bill Boumphrey's father worked for East Africa Railways and Harbours between 1954 and 1971, and the family lived in the Hamp Court flats on Upper Hill Road. If anyone can confirm that these railway flats still exist or has any other information, please contact. | Polish Refugee Camp Masindi, Bunyoro, Uganda (1940s): the Camp was actually situated just out of Masindi where the current Nyabyeya Forestry College and then Nyabyeya Forestry School is/was located within the Budongo Forest. Nyabyeya itself is located on the Bikonzi-Butiaba road heading towards nearby Lake Albert with Bikonzi located on the Masindi-Hoima road. SAVE AMBOSELI - Click on www.saveamboseli.netThe government of Kenya changed the status of Amboseli from a National Park to a National Reserve on September 28, 2005. This change of status removed the management of Amboseli from the Kenya Wildlife Service (KWS) and places it in the care of Olkejiado County Council.
