Amboseli: the Save Amboseli Park The government of Kenya changed the status of Amboseli from a National Park to a National Reserve on September 28, 2005. This change of status removed the management of Amboseli from the Kenya Wildlife Service (KWS) and placed it in the care of Olkejiado County Council. It will also permit a wider range of human activities within the protected area that are not allowed in a National Park. See Park Move Illegal.
